Maoricrypta kopua (Marshall, 2003) Length 28mm, Marine, Endemic. Animal whitish, translucent Three Kings Islands to East Cape, 78-805 metres. Living within apertures of dead/hermit crabbed Gastropods AE.
Maoricrypta monoxyla (Lesson, 1831) Length 30mm, Width 25mm, Smooth Slipper Shell. Marine, Endemic North Cape to Cape Runaway. Yellow animal, consistently lives on the outside of shells, intertidally to about 15 metres ACE.
Maoricrypta sodalis Marshall, 2003 (=monoxyla of authors not Lesson, in part) Length 37mm, Width 20mm, Marine, Endemic. White animal. Typically found within apertures of dead gastropods North, South, Stewart, and Snares Islands, intertidally to 925 metres ACFE.
Maoricrypta youngi Powell, 1940 (=profunda Beu & Maxwell not Hutton) Length 27mm, Width 22mm, Height 8mm, Marine, Endemic North Cape to Cook Strait, living on Gastropods, at low tide to 88 metres ACE.
