    Eastern Northland southward to the Snares. Found behind outer lip of living or dead/hermit-crab Gastropod shells, 175-590 metres ACFE.
  • Maoricrypta costata (G.B. Sowerby I, 1824)
    Length 60mm, Width 40mm, Ribbed Slipper Shell. Marine, Endemic
    Northland to Mahia, living intertidally to 47 metres, attached to undersides of rocks and on living Perna canaliculus ACE.
  • Maoricrypta kopua (Marshall, 2003)
    Length 28mm, Marine, Endemic. Animal whitish, translucent
    Three Kings Islands to East Cape, 78-805 metres. Living within apertures of dead/hermit crabbed Gastropods AE.
  • Maoricrypta monoxyla (Lesson, 1831)
    Length 30mm, Width 25mm, Smooth Slipper Shell. Marine, Endemic
    North Cape to Cape Runaway. Yellow animal, consistently lives on the outside of shells, intertidally to about 15 metres ACE.

    Length 37mm, Width 20mm, Marine, Endemic. White animal. Typically found within apertures of dead gastropods
    North, South, Stewart, and Snares Islands, intertidally to 925 metres ACFE.

    North Cape to Cook Strait, living on Gastropods, at low tide to 88 metres ACE.

    Length 42mm, Height 25mm, Circular Slipper Shell. Marine, Endemic
    North, South, Stewart, Chatham, Auckland, Snares and Campbell Islands. Living intertidally to 200 metres, attached to hard substrate ACFMAnE.

    Length 21mm, Width 18mm, Marine, Endemic. Spinose surface periostracum/epidermis
    North, South and Stewart Island. 4-533 metres attached to hard substrate/shells ACFE.

    Off Three Kings Islands and off Northern tip of North Island. (1 juvenile off Aldermen Islands), 0-805 metres AE.

    Width 16mm, Height 9mm, Marine, Endemic. Oblique spiral threads on the teleoconch, smooth periostracum when not worn off
    Three Kings, North, South, Stewart and Chatham Islands. 0-604 metres, attached to hard substrate ACFME.

    Width 30mm, Height 20mm, Marine, Endemic
    Off Three Kings Islands, Far North and Ranfurly Bank, East Cape. Attached to hard substrate, 27-93 metres ACE.
