Length 48mm, Width 22mm, Endemic
Eastern Northland southward to the Snares. Found behind outer lip of living or dead/hermit-crab Gastropod shells, 175-590 metres [ACFE.]

Maoricrypta costata (G.B.Sowerby I, 1824)
Length 60mm, Width 40mm, Ribbed Slipper Shell. Endemic
Northland to Mahia, living intertidally to 47 metres, attached to undersides of rocks and on living Perna canaliculus [ACE.]

Length 28mm, Endemic. Animal whitish, translucent
Three Kings Islands to East Cape, 78-805 metres. Living within apertures of dead/hermit crabbed Gastropods [AE.]
Maoricrypta monoxyla (Lesson, 1831)
Length 30mm, Width 25mm, Smooth Slipper Shell. Endemic
North Cape to Cape Runaway. Yellow animal, consistently lives on the outside of shells, intertidally to about 15 metres [ACE.]

North, South, Stewart, and Snares Islands, intertidally to 925 metres. Typically within apertures of dead gastropods [ACFE.]

North, South, Stewart, Chatham, Auckland, Snares and Campbell Islands. Living intertidally to 200 metres, attached to hard substrate [ACFMAnE.]
